How to choose a useful AI workflow
Start with a task people already need to finish, then decide where AI adds value.
Start with the work
Name the person, the task and the desired outcome. A useful starting point is a workflow where information is scattered, repetitive or difficult to interpret. For a manufacturing team, that might be finding the relevant production record. For a researcher, it might be reviewing terminology across a translated paper.
Place assistance beside the decision
AI becomes easier to use when the output appears in context. A plant-care answer is more useful beside the plant and current conditions. Resume feedback is more useful when it connects directly to the next practice session.
Make the next action visible
Design the handoff after the answer. A document summary may lead to a task, a translation to an editable export, or a support question to the appropriate team. This is where interface design and business workflow meet.
Choose a focused first experience
Begin with a useful end-to-end path, observe how people use it and expand from that foundation. Clear feedback and measurable workflow outcomes make later improvements easier to prioritize.
